THIRD WEEK REFLECTION AT SCHOOL
There was assembly on Monday based on drug awareness. Assembly was conducted by students of 10C class. Students took oath for the awareness of drug usage. Akhila from METCA College represented our B. Ed trainees and has given the drug awareness messages. After noon students of SPC, NCC, JRC were assembled at school auditorium and after forming several groups they have gone to each class and given the drug awareness message. As per the SMILE project of Kerala Police, students were trained and they have informed each class about the drug awareness and the ways to manage a drug addict. On the next day there was an awareness class on world elder abuse awareness day on the seminar hall. As part of the celebrations extending from June 15 to June 30, there conducted certain programmes on the seminar hall. Members of Senior Citizen Service Council shared their experiences with students. These programmes aims at giving awareness to students about safeguarding elders. Later school reopened after two holidays. On that day I taught students to find out area of irregular surface using graph paper. It was a nice experience. I thought it is always better to give students a concrete experience for learning new concepts.
