SIXTH WEEK REFLECTION AT SCHOOL

After some holidays school has reopened on Wednesday. Due to unexpected holidays I have lost some of my periods. Teacher announced that tomorrow would be the inaguration of science club and we have to do some experiments. We had done a lot of experments on that day. The school has a very good lab. It contains a lot of chemicals and we felt really very much freedom to work on that laboratory. On Thursday we had the inaguration programme on the seminar hall at 1 pm. So I and Akhila was on the Chemistry lab for checking the experiments. Students had already done the experiments of reaction between a metal and acid. They have collected the hydrogen gas formed from the reaction in a balloon. We have prepared concentrated and diluted acid for the experimentation. Our trainees also have to do some experiments. So we decided to make elephant toothpaste using hydrogen peroxide. At first it didn't worked well. But we tried it using different hydrogen peroxide available in the lab. I felt that students and teachers have a different outlook and attitude towards science. They are willing to do anything for the club. I couldn't attend my classes. We have collected all the reagents to the seminar hall. The club was inagurated by HM. The lamp was inagurated using water since it contain water sensor. For the first time in my life I have done an experiment infront of an audience and explained it. On Friday teaching practice of METCA trainees came to an end. So they have took our periods and distributed sweets. On this day assembly was based on Chandrayan day in coordination with science club. They have given a small description about Chandrayan and they sang a song based on it. At noon science club conducted a quiz competition. For the first time I was coordinating a quiz competition. It was a new experience for me.
